Christmas Wreath Making – 06/12/2023 & 07/12/2023
We are holding 4 of our very popular wreath making workshops on Wednesday 6th December from 10.00 to 12.00, and from 13.00 to 15.00.
And again on Thursday 7th December from 10.00 to 12.00, and from 13.00 to 15.00
Please bring gardening gloves, scissors and/or secateurs and any spare greenery you may have.
The cost will £25.00 per person and includes refreshments.

Christmas Holiday Activity – 21/12/2023 
Come and join us on our Christmas Activity Day, there will be hour long sessions through out the day, starting at 10.15 and finishing with the 14.15 session.
The activities will include a short guided walk with one of our volunteers, don’t forget those wellies, then finishing with making a Christmas decoration to take home and hang on your tree or wherever you like. This activity session is aimed at primary school children.
Entry for children is FREE, normal adult admission charges will apply.

New Year’s Day Walk – 01/01/2024
Indulged too much on New Year’s Eve? Why not blow away the cobwebs with a leisurely guided amble.

Freaky FunDay – 26/10/2023
As Halloween approaches, why not join us for our ‘Freaky Funday’ on Thursday 26th October.
We have a fun packed day full of activities to enjoy;
- Meet some of the spookier animals, reptiles and insects from Animazing.
Be brave and find out more about a fascinating range of creatures including Giant Hissing Cockroaches, Large Stick insects, Tarantula, Snakes, Lizards and much more… - Head out onto the Reserve for our mini spooky trail.
- Make and do with our curious crafts.
Feel free to come in fancy dress but don’t forget your wellies.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Parts of this event will take place outside, please dress appropriately for the weather.
- This event is free for children, but standard adult admission fees to the Reserve do still apply. These are payable on arrival.

Calling Young Birders! – 05/08/2023
A guided walk around Warnham Local Nature Reserve with MYA BAMBRICK, a talented young birder and wildlife photographer.

The Joy of Nature, Evening Talk 14/06/2023
A presentation by Richard Sharman, Associate Member of The Royal Photographic Society and Surrey Photographic Association Judge.
This talk covers his approach to taking stunning wildlife images, all in locations in the South East of England.
It includes an array of behavioural images of birds, animals, amphibians and insects, and is full of tips and ideas to give you a better chance of increasing your photographic success rate.
The talk also covers some key aspects of Camera Craft, including an understanding of Depth of Field achieving Sharpness and controlling light through the Exposure Triangle.

Dawn Chorus – 07/05/2023 FULLY BOOKED
A unique opportunity to experience the magical sounds of the Dawn Chorus on the Reserve.
Be prepared though for a very early start, but will be very much worth it.

As it’s coming up to that spooky time of the year, we will be running a new chilling Halloween trail around the Reserve on Friday 28th October.

Our Head Warden Jake will be showing us the process of bird ringing and all that this involves.

Dawn Chorus – 02/05/2022
A unique opportunity to experience the magical sounds of the Dawn Chorus on the Reserve.
Be prepared though for a very early start, but will be very much worth it.
Meet up at the Visitors Centre at 04.45, walk will last approximately an hour and a half.
The cost of this is £10 and includes a bacon roll/sausage sandwich.

Easter Trail – 15 -18/04/2022
This will be a self-guided trail, please come dressed for the weather and in suitable footwear.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Join our historian on a guided walk as he explains about the extraction and smelting of iron ore on the site in the 17th century, and about some of the people associated with it.

Half Term Build a Bird Box – 22nd & 24th February 2022

Christmas Wreath Making
We are very pleased to announce that we will be hosting our wreath making days again this year. These will be held on the following days:
Wednesday 1st December 2021- This is for Friends Members Only
Thursday 2nd December 2021 – Open to everyone
Friday 3rd December 2021 – Open to everyone
There will be two sessions each day, one in the morning from 10.00 – 12.00 and one in the afternoon from 13.00 – 15.00. Please bring your own gloves and secateurs and additional greenery you may wish to use or donate for others to use.
The cost is £15 per person and includes a hot drink and a mince pie.
