What’s On At The Reserve

Christmas Wreath Making

We are very pleased to announce that we will be hosting our wreath making days again this year.  These will be held on the following days:

Wednesday 1st December  – This is for Friends Members Only

Thursday 2nd December – Open to everyone

Friday 3rd December – Open to everyone

There will be two sessions each day, one in the morning from 10.00 – 12.00 and one in the afternoon from 13.00 – 15.00. Please bring your own gloves and secateurs and additional greenery you may wish to use or donate for others to use.

The cost is £15 per person and includes a hot drink and a mince pie.

Places are very limited and must be booked and paid for in advance at Herons Rest Café or by calling the Reserve on 01403 756238.

Half Term Activities -25th – 29th October

We’re delighted to confirm that the new Discovery Hub and Shelley Wildlife Garden will open on Monday 25 October, just in time to host an exciting variety of free fun activities for school children over the half-term holidays.

Inside the Discovery Hub, you’ll find:
                 Information about the industrial, natural and social heritage of our nature reserve
                 Interactive displays to educate and inform
                 Details of recent sightings on the Reserve and what to look out for during your visit
                 Ample space to accommodate lectures, events and group visits.
Some of the planned free activities are:
                Pond dipping
                Mask making
                Guided walks
                Halloween trail

Bat Walk – Friday 17th September

We are pleased to be hosting a free Bat Walk for our adult Members only on Friday 17th September starting at 19.00. Places are very limited so please either call the Reserve on 01403 756238 or call in at Herons Rest Café to book your slot(s).
